I haven't done a Sunday Salon in a while. I've come to the conclusion that my reading and blogging habits are just going to have to be different than they were in the past. And I'm okay with that. I may not have a book review up every 3-4 days like I used to aim for, but I'm back to posting fairly regularly and hope to increase it slightly. I had initially planned on spending all day Saturday doing some reading and catching up on reviews and blogging. But then what started as an innocent trip to the mall to get out of the house turned into us waiting in line for 2 1/2 hours to upgrade husband to the iPhone 4s (and I didn't have a book with me). We hadn't planned on getting that right away. Even when we started standing in line we weren't nearly aware of how long we'd be waiting in line. Ah well, we actually ended up having great conversations with each other while waiting in line - something we're often too busy to do much of when we're at home. But hopefully I can catch up on reviews soon because I'm actually a few books behind!
I am excited about the National Book Award finalists that were announced last week. Usually I haven't read any of the finalists and sometimes haven't heard of them. This time I already read one and had already planned on reading two of the remaining four on the list. So I'm excited about that and am thinking I'll do that soon.

The Tiger's Wife is the one I already read. Great writing but I didn't care for the story. The Buddha in the Attic I actually started yesterday and am seeing why it was chosen as a finalist. The writing style is interesting, though I hope it doesn't wear on me by the end of the book. I had also wanted to read Salvage the Bones based on the reviews by Heather, Heather, and Audra. I hear that one's a tough one emotionally, though, so we'll see if I really end up getting to/through it!
I've got a busy week ahead of me including testifying in court on a case from my last job. I'm already looking forward to next weekend!

My reading/blogging is changing these days as well. I think I'm going to stop accepting review copies in the very near future because I just don't have the time I used to have to get to them all. Enjoy your Sunday!
Too much to do and so little time! Enjoy your blogging. I would also like to read The Tiger's wife.
I hope your hubby enjoys the 4Gs. I think the wait was worth it. Don't worry, it's your blog and you can post however you wish.
Obviously my reading and blogging have changed quite drastically as well, so I completely understand!
I often skip Sunday Salon too. It's normal for our blogging habits to change and evolve over time, so I try to just go with it. I can't wait to read When She Woke!
I am also really excited about When She Woke, and am hoping to read it in conjunction with The Scarlet Letter for review sometime soon. I also think it's normal for there to be a lull in the blogging schedule at times. Life does change and other things begin to take priority sometimes. Don't feel bad about it because I think it happens to us all. I would be really interested in hearing your thoughts on Salvage the Bones if you get to it. It was very haunting.
Well, I guess it might matter if we actually got paid for this, but since we are not, it has to be squeezed in between life. That is OK, I'm still following you and look forward to whatever you read and review. I've thought about reading Dracula, because it is such a classic, so I'll look for some guidance on that!
When She Woke sounds great - did you read the author's first book, Mudbound? I haven't but hear that is also very good.
I am attending an event this week and the author of Buddha in the Attic will be there - I am glad to hear you are liking her book.
I posted today too about some health issues that affected my blogging but you can't worry about it - just do what you can. You do it well so people will come back.
I just downloaded When She Woke...and I probably won't be able to wait for this one, either. When it's sitting on my Kindle, how can I not read it? Even though other stacks have priority....Hmm.
It just looks so fabulous.
Here's MY SUNDAY SALON POST and
MY WEBSITE
*shudder* The idea of waiting in line without a book! But, it's good you and your husband could chit chat; I love those unexpected moments. My reading habits are definitely changing as well. I like to read the books that I want to read instead of books being accepted for review unless something completely blows me away as far as the premise is concerned. Otherwise, it's back to my shelves and reading when I want to and what I want to. Less pressure and more fun!
I really want to read When She Woke!
I checked out the Finalists too. Very ecclectic. I had not read any of them and haven't heard of many of the non fiction. Probably won't get to them but they do sound like a good mix.
I read maybe half of Dracula awhile back. Yep, boring.
Can't wait for your thoughts on When She Woke; it seemed a bit like The Handmaiden's Tale to me, so I wasn't very excited -- but if it hooked you, it could hook me...
