Sunday Salon/ In My Mailbox

Sunday, April 4, 2010

First of all, to those of you who celebrate, Happy Easter!

My Sunday Salon is a little late today. I had planned on doing a lot of work/housework/reading this afternoon but I was called out for work to a local hospital. Then my husband and I went to the Magic game tonight so instead of coming back home I just hung out and did some shopping. So this is really the first chance I have had to even log in!

So I obviously haven't read much either today. The two books I'm working on are ones I got this week, so I will just proceed to the In My Mailbox portion of the post!

Books Mentioned
Dead End Gene Pool by Wendy Burden
The Third Rail by Michael Harvey
Hotel Iris by Yoko Ogawa
Fables, Volume 1: Legends in Exile

Yay for Fables! I'm glad you are reading it, and hopefully it will open you up to the exciting world of graphic novels.

Now what's this about coming to Chicago?

Juju -- it's not taking too long to read (obviously, haha) so hopefully it will be up soon!

Trisha -- Do you live in Chicago?? If I knew that at one point (which I may) then I forgot! My husband and I are just taking a trip for fun. He has always wanted to go to Chicago so we decided to make that our next trip! We are going on a Thursday afternoon and leaving early Monday morning.

Happy Easter! I also got a copy of Dead End Gene Pool for the review series and am so excited about it! I have heard that it's the next big book for summer and can't wait to see what I think of it. I hope you enjoy it, and all the other books that made it to your house this week!

Whoo-hoo for graphic novels! Can't wait to see what you think of Fables, I kept picking it up and putting it back at Borders yesterday, so I am certainly curious as to how you will review it :-)
