Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
Here's my pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection:
House Rules by Jodi Picoult
Publish date: March 2, 2010
Publish date: March 2, 2010

Eighteen-year old Jacob Hunt has Asperger's syndrome, and his devoted single mother, Emma, has built their family's life around Jacob's needs, sacrificing her career to act as his caregiver and all but ignoring a younger son, Theo. But when Jacob is accused of murder, that carefully crafted life comes apart, and all of the hallmarks of Jacob's diagnosis begin to make him look guilty. Emma hires a young attorney whose attachment to Jacob brings him close to the family as he struggles to mount a defense for Jacob, whose inability to read social cues makes him less than an ideal client. While Picoult's research is impeccable and she deals intelligently with charged questions about autism and Asperger's, the whodunit is stretched sitcom-thin and handled poorly, with characters withholding information from the reader throughout. Picoult's writing, line by line, is as smooth as ever, and she does a great job of getting into Jacob's head, but the wobbly plotting is a massive detriment.

Ooh, you found a cover art for it. I've been checking periodically. I like it!
I haven't read my ARC yet. I am trying to get a few more read before I dive in.
I am so glad you are reading Little Bee. It is a different book but boy, it really hit me. It had a mood to it and it fit me at the time.
Take care,
Michelle
It seems we are on the same page...I just posted my WoW pick...also House Rules. My cover is different, though.
Wow, I love her books! What I want to know is how do you find these books? Is it because of publishers sending you books, or what? I sometimes get them from the Amazon Vine list, but that's the only ARC reading I do.
Too bad that parts of this book sound thin...
Michelle and Tina -- I've actually seen 3 different covers for this! I don't know what the actual one is, and barnes and noble doesn't even have one on their listing yet, so who knows!
Michelle -- I finished Little Bee last night.... it was definitely good, but I wasn't expecting it to be so.. serious, I guess. I really liked the character of Little Bee, though.
Laurel -- I don't actually have all these books! The WoW ones are just the ones I'm looking forward to. Is that what you meant? I actually don't read many ARC's because I try to focus on the ones that are out that I REALLY want to read. As for finding them, I try to look at upcoming book lists and some authors I pay more attention to!
I came back, because I found a WOW book! It's actually out this month, or maybe it has already been released...but it's new.
It's here:
