The Sunday Salon

Another week down! I had a lot of client cancellations this week -- everyone is getting sick. And well, the others are forgetting about their appointments. Anyway, this has freed up a lot of my time and I've done a lot of reading!

I'm still working on The Art of Racing in the Rain for the Real Simple Magaizine's No Obligation Book Club. It's an easy read and I keep wanting to read faster, but I'm trying to force myself to keep the pace with the discussions.

I bought and read Jodie Sweetin's memoir, Unsweetined, this week and also read April and Oliver by Tess Callahan. Those reviews will both be posted this week. Last night I read Push by Sapphire which is the basis for the upcoming movie, Precious. I guess I've read some shorter books lately and being able to finish these books has sort of motivated my reading. Sort of like jump starting your metabolism, haha.

I bought a lot of books just in the past week too! Can't wait to read them all!

And I hadn't really been paying attention to this whole FTC thing but looks like I should be?? So from now on I need to always post where I received a book from? It seems sort of silly to me since I just write in a silly ol' blog, but I guess if I'm going to be receiving books from publishers and authors then it's necessary? I don't know what I think about all that.

Anyhow, in other news, I also joined

Don't forget you only have until November 12th (this Thursday) to sign up, so if you would still like to, click on the picture to go to the site.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Hey Jenny! I guess I'm making the rounds early for a Sunday, since everywhere I go, I seem to be the first "guest."

I would love to read some of the books on your list! "Push" sounds good and I'm definitely looking forward to the movie!

My post is here:

Well thanks for being my first guest today. =)

Push was a difficult read (emotionally).. I'll have the review up probably early next week. I do still want to see the movie.

I just left a comment on your post about The Wrong Mother. Can't wait to read it!

Melissa -- I had mixed feelings about it, but in end I decided I did like it =) It'll be up later this week

I've been thinking about reading Push, but it can be difficult to start books you know are going to be a bit painful to read.

I joined the Book swap too!

I look forward to your review of Unsweetined. I was listening to some radio show and they were talking about her.
