Throwback Thursday – this is a weekly event hosted by me! It is the time each week to recognize those older books… an older book you’ve always wanted to read, or one that you have read and love; maybe one from your childhood; or review an older book -- how about even a classic! Leave a comment here and feel free to take an icon and use it on your blog!
The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks

From bn.com:
It all starts with a birthday present Omri doesn't even want — a small plastic Indian of no use to him at all. But when an old wooden cupboard and a special key bring the unusual toy to life, Omri's Indian becomes his most important secret: precious, dangerous, wonderful, and above all, magical.
Everyone's read this, right? Such memories from my childhood! Apparently there's a movie of it too. I wish they wouldn't make movies out of so many classic books!

Hey, Jenny...I like this meme! I grabbed the icon and did a post over on my Untangling the Web blog at http;//weboftyranny.blogspot.com/
My memorable book is "Little Women." My copy of that book was so battered from constant rereads...I lost track of it over the years, though.
"The Indian in the Cupboard"...I never read that one, but saw something on TV once when my kids were younger...a movie made for TV, I think.
This is another of my faves! I can't even count how many times I've read it.
I never read this book Jenny, may be I will get one for my kids and we all can read togather...
well. here is mine:

Oh my gosh! I probably haven't even thought about this book since grade school, but seeing the title and the cover really brought the feeling of it back, although not the details. I'm going to have to go out and buy this now! Thanks for the reminder.
I love this book! It's one of those I couldn't put down even though it was like 3:13 in the morn! But wait there's more! If you click in the next 10 minuets you get an award for free! All you have to do is click here!
I haven't read this one. Was I suppose to? =)
And you've noticed I've changed my hair!! That's because I had a hair cut. I said good bye to around 15 inches of hair, lol. =)
Have a nice day!
I never read this book, so thanks for mentioning it:)
I was totally thinking about this book the other day. I used to own the series when I was in 3rd grade. I also remember watching the movie (one of my faves from elementary school).
BTW...I left an award for you on my blog!
I've posted your icon and a link to Throwback Thursday on my blog. I love the concept of dusting off old novels. What a great idea!
I'm ashamed to admit this but I have never read this book. I've seen two movie adaptations but not the book. I'm going to have to rectify that sometime soon.
Loved book. Even enjoyed the movie. Great pick!
Apparently not everyone has read this, lol! I don't think I've even read it since maybe 2nd grade, haha. But I remember enjoying it and others in my class absolutely loved it!
