Throwback Thursday

I added some icons in different colors so you can choose the one you like best!

Throwback Thursday – this is a weekly event hosted by me! It is the time each week to recognize those older books… an older book you’ve always wanted to read, or one that you have read and love; maybe one from your childhood; or review an older book -- how about even a classic! Leave a comment here and feel free to take the icon and use it on your blog!

In honor of the short stories I read this week, I thought I would post one I loved way back when (in what, 2nd grade??) that was similar in nature called The Stories Julian Tells. Apparently it's been re-printed with a new cover but I like the original here. (There's also a sequel called More Stories Julian Tells but I couldn't find the right cover).

From bn.com:
Julian is a quick fibber and a wishful thinker. And he is great at telling stories. He can make people—especially his younger brother, Huey—believe just about anything. Like the story about the cats that come in the mail. Or the fig leaves that make you grow tall if you eat them off the tree. But some stories can lead to a heap of trouble, and that's exactly where Julian and Huey end up!

I love this meme and I am always promoting older reads that I have loved and of course they are still on my shelves today.

This book looks wonderful. (Oh I also like the color choices for your meme!) I wonder if I can do another Thursday thing.... :)

Tea -- I don't see it... did you do it today?

Amy -- thanks. =) feel free to stop by whenever!

Sarbear -- there really are! I keep thinking of more and more, lol, but I left the meme open to all types of books that are older so I should never run out of books to use, hehe

Christy -- I just went and commented on your post.. I loved that book too!

Lisa -- thanks! I love seeing the books people choose for this meme! And thanks for following twitter! I just started it and have pretty much no followers yet, lol. I'll add you to my blogroll as well!

browngirl -- thanks, I'll add you to my blogroll as well. When I was looking for that Julian book cover today I noticed it looked like there were more Julian books and one with his little brother, Huey, as well! I'm trying to build up a children's book collection so I'm going to have to find some of those too.

I didn't realize you started this meme! It's such a great idea :) The book you featured sounds awesome. It makes me want to go find some little kids to read it to haha

I definitely need to do this next week!
