Musing Monday

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme hosted by Becca at Just One More Page.

Today's musings are about libraries:

1) If you don't frequent your local library, why not?
In the past I didn't because I always forgot about it or because I wanted newer books. I realllly liked buying books the best of all. But then again, I love buying new things in general! Now I get my books from all over.

2) If you do visit the library, how often do you go?
I don't really have a set schedule... going to the library is sort of a new thing for me. Right now I've been going whenever a book on hold becomes available.

3) Do you have a favorite section that you always head to first, or do you just randomly peruse the shelves?
The library near me is small and there is one main fiction section, so that's where I go!

4) How many books are you allowed to check out at one time? Do you take advantage of this?
25! I think that's a crazy amount, but the lady at the desk looked apologetic when she told me that. That's because they just started that rule April 1... I guess before that it was unlimited.

5) How long are you allowed to have the books checked out?
Three weeks unless it's a really popular on hold one and then 2 weeks.

6) How many times are you allowed to renew your check-outs, if at all?
Not sure

7) What do you love best about your particular library?
I don't really love anything about my library... I just love how convenient it is. But there are much cooler libraries out there.

8) What is one thing you wish your library did differently?
I wish they would update it with more books... there are a lot of new books they don't have or that they are taking MONTHS to get.

9) Do you request your books via an online catalogue, or through the librarian at your branch?
I request them online. I also like to log in occasionally to see where I am in line for them.

10) Have you ever chosen a book on impulse (from the online catalogue OR the shelves) and had it turn out to be totally amazing? If so, what book was it, and why did you love it?
Not that I can think of. Well, not at the library since I haven't been going there for long. I generally don't do that because there are soooo many that I specifically WANT to read that it's hard to take a chance on an unknown book sometimes... BUT I have bought books on a whim (which I guess is worse) and really liked some.

That's why I stopped going to the library. Here is mine
